The big problem with Synthroid has to do with its inactive ingredient list. Let's put aside the fact that it only contains T4 thyroid hormone which can be a problem for some, it also contains lactose in the form of lactose monohydrate. And the ingestion of lactose has been shown to alter thyroid function in patients with Hashimoto's! If you have lactose intolerance make sure you don't use a thyroid medication that contains the very ingredient you can't tolerate. #synthroid #thyroid #hypothyroidi
